I was born in 1957, in Turin, Italy, where I now live. I currently work as a doctor at my private practice. Since boyhood, I have had a passion for travel and photography. I have undertaken and photographically documented more than thirty-five journeys to remote areas of the world. Thinking back on my travels , I still remember the thrill of seeing the reefs of Papua New Guinea, Palau, Galapagos, the sceneries and wildlife of Patagonia, Antartica, Alaska, the polar bears of Churchill, the savannahs of Okavango, Masai Mara, the Namib and Sahara deserts, the rainforests of Borneo, Amazonia and Madagascar.
In recent years, I have given increasing preference to naturalistic themes in my photographs and my passion has become focused on the natural world. My interests in nature, apart from photography, include outdoor activities, trekking, sailing, scuba diving, skiing and biking.
I try to document photographically the wildest areas of the Earth. My photographs focus on wildlife, both with its tender and cruel sides, on wild places and on abstractions of the natural world, always trying to capture the essence of the wild.
I received several awards for my photos at contests such as the Oasis International Photo Concurs and Antibes Underwater Festival.
I still have many dreams, among which, as a photographer, there are two: to contribute, by way of sharing my photographs, to helping people to understand the miracle of life on Earth and its biodiversities - a first step towards protecting and preserving it - and then... the cover of National Geographic....!
